A Heart that Forgives

Yesterday was fantasic. Two fantastic messages from Pastor Brian BK Stevens from Louisianna. Yes I do want my life back. One way to get that life back is to truly trust in God. I also heard a song this morning that is not new to me but ut is by Kevin Lavar, it is called a heart that forgives. This song is truly a blessing. Sometimes it is truly difficult to forgive those who have wronged us. This I know to be true, but have you ever considered this thought, "What if God never forgave us of our sins, what if he never sent his Son, Jesus to die for our sins. Where would we be?" I know that everyone may not have the same beleifs that I have and that is ok. How can I expect forgiveness if I refuse to forgive others. Other people sometimes dont even realize that they have hurt us, even if they do they will forget a long time before you do. In the long run who suffers the most. You do! Why, because we harbor all the anger on the inside that is slowly hurting ourselves even more. It is hard for me to hear these words sometimes, we have to let it go. Sometimes we have to be alone and let things go so that we can move on. In not means does this mean forget the circumstances or the feelings, but release the power that we allow these feelings to have on our lives.

  1. I did a Beth Moore study that talked about forgiveness and how, if I thought about the most horrible and horrendous thing I'd done and was GRATEFUL for the forgiveness I'd been given--when put in the same situation of thinking how it would be if the response I'd gotten from God was what I wanted to do to others who've sinned against me---I'd beg, "Bless them, Lord!! Bless them!! Bless them and keep blessing me!!!"

SO I try to remember that...not always easy...but I try!

  2. Oh girl....how I wish it was easy for me to forgive...I have learned so much that as much as i forgive i am given more and more reason to walk away and just accept it for what it is...One thing at a time...first I need to heal from alyssa then i may be able to make room for more forgiveness in my life...the relationship with my mother wont ever be the one I dreamt of as a child, but i have learned to forgive what she has done for me, because of WHAT she feels and does for my daughter...anyone who puts Alyssa first has gotten the best of me...for now i have to focus on that, its hard to forgive those who hurt my daughter, indirectly by hurting ME and the memory she leaves in my heart....like I said ONE step at a time love you!!!
